Boom Kids attended an Easter Piñata Cupcake cookery class with 3 Bears Cookery Club.
It was an absolute blast! We had a warm welcome from Ruth our host and she gave the kids lovely aprons and a menu card so we could see what we were going to be making!
Boom girl got straight stuck in, measuring and mixing and fearlessly getting her hands in the dough mixture to mix in the flour!
Boom boy was more hesitant, he has never really had much desire to help out in the kitchen, but actually he surprised us all with how much he enjoyed the baking process and particularly loved the decorating at the end.
Ruth provided all of the equipment and ingredients and the kids used their measuring skills and reading skills to follow each step with Ruth's assistance.
Whilst the cakes baked in the oven Ruth provided squash, biscuits and hot drinks for the adults, plus colouring sheets and felt tips so the kids enjoyed the social time colouring, chatting and excitedly chatting about how their baked goods would come out.
We took some loom bands with us too, but before we knew it, we were ready to decorate!
The kids were so chuffed with the end results and after devouring a cake, we boxed up the rest to take home in a lovely cake box Ruth provided!
The kids thought the class was great and both said they would love to do it again.
Ruth also runs online classes where you get the recipe card in advance so you can get the ingredients and you cook along with Ruth on zoom and then end up with that nights tea to eat! What a fab idea.
Highly recommend her workshops and will definitely be checking out the online classes too!
