Review: Kate Watson Jewellery Workshop

Updated: Mar 7

I was delighted to receive a voucher for a Kate Watson Jewellery workshop for my birthday. I have attended one before where I made a silver charm bracelet, but now that she has her own shop in Belper’s 1924 building I was keen to try a workshop out again to make something different.

Kate is really welcoming and takes you through the silver smith process step by step, with plenty of safety measures in place for using blow torches, etc. The hot drinks and biscuits were aplenty too!

My friend and I enjoyed a morning creating our own personalised pendants. I chose to stamp my children’s names into mine. We were pretty stunned by what we achieved and it was fun learning how it all comes together. We both felt we came away with a very special, personal keepsake.

The new shop has a lovely ambience in the light and airy 1924 building and there is a warm and friendly community atmosphere there. We enjoyed a shop around and lunch at Café 24 afterwards.

Kate sells beautiful pieces of jewellery in the shop, you can also commission her to make rings, necklaces, bracelets or whatever you dream up really, or why not have a go at making your own bespoke piece at one of her workshops?

See the website for various options:

She is running a group workshop to make a stacking ring on the 7th Aug 21, so if you want to book on to that then go to:
