Christmas is the perfect time for a spot of family baking! Why not try this delicious recipe for Reindeer Cupcakes?
Ingredients
70g butter
70g sugar
1 egg
100g self raising flour
1 tbsp cocoa powder
Approx. 15ml milk
2 tbsp cocoa powder
A little water
6 glacé cherries
6 pretzels halved (for the antlers)
Edible eyes
Edible glitter
What to do:
Before you start, wash your hands, put on an apron and ask your grown up to preheat the oven to 180°c.
In a bowl, weigh out the butter and sugar then cream together until soft and fluffy.
Mix in the egg.
Add the cocoa powder, mix until all chocolatey and then add the flour.
Add the milk and mix well until free from lumps, the mixture should just fall off your spoon.
Divide your mixture between your 6 cupcake cases and ask your grown up to pop them in the oven for 12-15 mins until risen and springy to touch.
Once your cakes have cooled, mix the icing sugar, cocoa powder and a little water to form a thick paste.
Spoon on to the tops of your cakes and add two eyes, a cherry for the nose and split a pretzel in half for the antlers.
Sprinkle with glitter for a little extra Christmas magic!
